We take the kids to the Play Care at our supermarket. They get to color and play with toys, and we get to have a quick coffee together and do the shopping in peace. For that, our market has won my undying loyalty.
One of the things the boys love about Play Care is that they have a television. Since the kids don't watch TV at home, it's a sure bet that if the set is on they'll be watching.
When we picked them up this afternoon, the Play Care attendant had old Disney cartoons on for the boys. They were watching Donald Duck attempt some kind of plumbing repair, at the climax of which he was left with a plunger stuck to his backside.
The eldest was completely amused. "Mom," he said, laughing. "Donald Duck had a plunger stuck to his bum!"
At which point my husband turns to me and says, deadpan, "Things stuck to your butt. Always funny."
